It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

Halloween, that is. And clearly folks love a scare, a costume and a few treats, because there are loads of Halloween festivities for all ages and interests.

• Aftermath Haunted House: Visitors will explore a two-story, 3,000-square-foot farmhouse and creep along the dark wooded trails near the Arkansas Riverwalk, 7 p.m. Saturday, last ticket sold at 10:30 p.m., Recreation District Community Room, 575 Ash St., Cañon City, $20-$40; 719-275-1578, ccrec.colorado.gov/aftermath.

• Hellscream Haunted House: The long-running event promises a multistory, multiattraction experience, through Nov. 4, 3021 N. Hanco*ck Ave., $24-$64; hellscreamhaunt.com.

Ghost Stories of Old Manitou Walking Tours give a peek into some of the area’s most noteworthy spooky tales.

• Ghost Stories of Old Manitou Walking Tours: THEATREdART and Manitou Springs Heritage Center introduce you to the ghosts of historical Manitou Springs residents, tours every 15 minutes starting at 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Manitou Springs Heritage Center, 517 Manitou Ave., $16, free 10 and younger; 685-1454, manitouspringsheritagecenter.org.

• Haunted Car Wash: Getting your car washed is a mindless chore. • Halloween History Hunt: There’s history to the holiday, though we always seem to forget that with our endless buckets of candy. • Halloween Murder Mystery Buffet Dinner Show: It’s the late ‘80s and a cable TV show is set to announce its ghostly findings. But will the spirits get to the cast earlier than expected? • Fright at the Boo!seum: The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum will be decked out for the season. • Harp Twins’ Rockin’ Halloween Concert: Identical twins Camille and Kennerly Kitt, known as the Harp Twins, are heard around the world on their acoustic and electro-acoustic concert grand harps and electric harps. They’ll play spooky songs, classic rock and metal tunes, and be joined by the male Volfgang Twins on double drums for the finale, 6 p.m. Sunday, Stargazers Theatre and Event Center, 10 S. • Halloween Scavenger Hunt: Kids and teens can meet in Acacia Park to gather clues and find hidden treats throughout downtown.
